Notes From Stephanie

Real Talk: Even style coaches struggle with getting dressed sometimes. I’ve gained 10 pounds since last fall and gone up a full pants size. Lately, putting together outfits has been tough. But with cooler weather coming, I’m excited for cold-weather clothes, so last weekend I followed my own advice and detoxed my closet.

I tried everything on and sorted it into two piles: what fits and can be worn now, and what doesn’t fit or feels dated. Afterward, I was left with three pairs of jeans, three skirts, several dresses, and a rack of tops and jackets. (Workout clothes don’t count—they’re not workwear!)

Here’s the problem: You can’t make great outfits without the right pieces. I have a wardrobe gap, and until I fill it, I’ll keep staring at my closet lamenting that I have nothing to wear.

Changing seasons is the perfect time to go through your closet, try things on, and create your own wardrobe gap list. Share it with me via email or DM—I’d love to hear about your challenges and what you need to build outfits that make you feel confident.

Whether you shop second-hand, buy new, or make your own clothes, the key is to shop with intention to fill those gaps. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be working to balance my wardrobe, so getting dressed can be the easiest ten minutes of my day again.

Cheering you on- 😍

Stephanie
