Notes From Stephanie

WISH-TV television interview on November 6, 2015, wearing my workhorse brown corduroy blazer.

Between 2000 and 2017, my cell phone number was on the speed dial of every major news outlet in Indiana. As a reliable source for reactions to national news stories or local policies, my experience as a leader in business, public policy, and philanthropy was a unique perspective. And still, every request produced an avalanche of nerves and pressure to show up on point. ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ

I've been media trained and prepped six ways to Sunday, but two pro tips made all the difference for surviving the pressure of last-minute interview requests:

โœ… 1. Always wear a good lip color.

โœ… 2. Always have a great blazer handy.

It doesn't take watching your video clips on rewind too many times to realize your image speaks for you before you ever say a word. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Even when you're wearing jeans and sneakers, throwing a sharp blazer on changes your entire experience: your shoulders square up, your energy shifts, and you have the confidence and presence of authority.

Consider adding a blazer to your regular rotation of work outfits and notice the difference in how you feel and how people interact with you. It's powerful.

I went live on Instagram on Tuesday to talk with you about blazers and we've rounded up great blazers to add to your wardrobe and shared them below.

Also on the radar this weekโ€ฆ

Always cheering you on- ๐Ÿ˜

Stephanie
